Cdr King Router

Cdr King now has wireless routers in stock. I am not aware exactly when this was available, but when I saw it, I bought one myself. I have a wireless D-link router at home, it has been with me for two years. I am totally satisfied with it, and I thought that routers are all sturdy and hassle-free like my D-link one. I should have known better.

Anyway, I bought a Cdr king router for the purpose of bringing it to school w/ my Globe broadband modem. I wanted a cheap router because I did not think that a few hours per day of use would require an expensive one. So I bought one from Cdr king, for P1,300 (the left model in the picture above). Setting it up was fairly difficult, it didn’t go as smoothly as I expected, but I got it working. I am not exactly sure about this, but I think the speed is just ridiculous. I know that the users get halved bandwidths with routers, but I got speed like below dial-up, which isn’t at all normal. I asked Cdr king and they said it was caused by my ISP, what a load of crap. After 1 and a half months of killing me with its turtle-like speed, the Cdr king router broke. I think it overheated as it disconnects after every 5 min of use. What a piece of junk.

After that, I went to look for other brands, I was surprised to see the prices of routers have dropped. Asus, D-link, Linksys wireless routers were now selling at P2,000 and below. P1,300 is a big price I paid for learning my lesson, always buy trusted brands and stay away from cheap ones.
